Basic Orange gave me the assignment to design the new website for De Vlaamse Opera. It was my task to make a creative presentation for their ambitious opera productions. Each production page can be customized to match the look and feel of every specific opera.

De Vlaamse Opera is specialized in opera productions which operates in two Flemish cities, de Vlaamse Opera Antwerpen and Vlaamse Opera Gent.

Holland Festival

For Basic Orange we won the pitch to do the honors of designing the new Holland Festival website. The design is done by me and Henk Jan Bouwmeester (and concept). Website is visually modular built, with various sections to give visitors a clear insight to the events in a new way. The large backgrounds can be easily managed from the back-end, and so can each page/event be updated with ease.

Unilever Xchange

Unilever asked Basic Orange to design their internal change program (Xchange). I designed the “Xchange” intranet website and did all of the flash work. Appetite (UK Agency) supplied the (excellent) artwork for me to use.

Truvo Mobile

For Truvo Mobile (enhanced search applications for mobile use) I designed their main corporate website, all the flash work and various banners for them to use. I also included a “Vind op kaart” promo banner. Truvo Mobile is a client from Basic Orange and the promotional website was launched in Belgium, Ireland & Portugal.

Housequake

Housequake.com saw the light of day on June 7th, 1997. On Prince’s birthday…. 12 years online to support a very prolific artist named Prince. I was the founder and designer of the Housequake Prince fan community, with at it’s peak more than 35.000 registered members. It contained the most extensive Prince discography online, interviews with related artists, exclusive photography and lot’s more.

After surviving a couple of legal threats from Prince (see my side project Prince Fans United as an example), I decided to pull the plug in February 2009. “Kill your darlings” as they say…

The Housequake website has already been too much changed (read crippled) by Prince’s efforts to gain control over our content. It’s the feeling you have, when a burglar robbed your house. It’s just not your house anymore. And the fact remains that I can’t afford to pay an army of lawyers to keep a decent non-profit community up and running the way I want to, even when I operate within international laws.

Nevertheless, I can look back and feel proud over what we accomplished. I was asked to make a special promotional site for Disney’s Monsters, Inc. I built it completely in flash and also contains a game (maze) where children could win a trip to Eurodisney. (If they answer all questions correctly). This was an assignment from Headline communication/Headweb.

ING Bank Euro Website

For Headline/Headweb I was asked to design a special Euro introduction site for the ING Bank. It’s purpose was to inform their clients about the launch of the Euro and by a simple ‘coin game’ giving people answers to common questions.
